In this workshop, we will reflect on your experiences with challenging interactions between students and with you as a tutor and help you prepare for common classroom situations.

We will work on the following objectives:

  • Understand Tuckman’s model of group dynamic

  • Apply Tuckman’s model to diagnose challenging and effective group dynamics in PBL tutorials

  • Building a toolbox for recognising and managing group dynamics by exchanging best practices, including practices for establishing effective group dynamics, engaging students with diverse prior knowledge and motivation, and conflict management
