Teacher get-together
Teaching is something we do every day, but we do not always get the chance to talk about it with colleagues. Our monthly Teacher Get-Togethers offer an informal moment to step away from the day-to-day and connect with colleagues from across departments. They are a space to exchange experiences, share ideas, and learn from the different perspectives and practices that exist within our teaching community at SBE.
Each month, different departments kick off the session with a short contribution. This might be a teaching experience or challenge, a practical tip, a classroom exercise, or simply a spark of inspiration. From there, the conversation is open: a relaxed exchange about teaching, education, pedagogy, and whatever is currently on your mind.
There is already a wealth of teaching knowledge and experience within our school. These get-togethers create a stage for teachers and an opportunity to make all the knowledge and experiences visible across departments: to share what works, exchange approaches, and help each other think through challenges when they arise. Often, a colleague has faced a similar situation before and can offer a fresh perspective, practical idea, or simply a useful sounding board.
There are no formal presentations and no obligations. Just a welcoming lunch hour to connect with colleagues across the school, share experiences, and discover new perspectives on teaching.
Whether you come to contribute an idea, ask a question, or simply listen and meet colleagues, you are very welcome.
